It's old skool, this one, but it's tasty. What's most fun about Universe At War is wide open splatter of mad ideas they've bunged into the three alien factions and I'm not sure any of that will come across until we get hold of the full game.

Games are one medium in which keep the best 'til last rarely does anyone any favours. Each of the game's factions will have unique paths to victory with completely different styles of play, allowing players. Universe at War: Earth Assault is a real-time strategy game in which we'll have to take the reins of an alien invasion of Earth. There are three factions that are fighting over our planet and it seems like humans can't do anything to avoid it. This follows a trend this year of releasing not-that-good parts of games as demos. Universe at War: Earth Assault features innovative new multiplayer features inspired by today's top MMOs and competitive online environments, giving players achievements, rewards, and medals but in a balanced environment. (Because aren't we all here for the terrain, really?) The environment on the first level is seven shades of bland, and there's much more interesting stuff in the game proper (marshes, cities) because I've seen it demoed months back. The demo is a little dull to look at, and you can safely crank it up to very high detail (from the default not-much detail) to get some better terrain. And that's a good thing, if you like alien machismo. They talk as if everyone last one of them is pretending to be the Imperial Dreadnought from Dawn Of War. I particularly like these guys because they hoover up cows and people for fuel, as well as have giant walking robots as their principle base structures.

It's info-girth is an uncomfortable 1179 Mb and it includes two levels of the big stompy robot campaign, The Hierarchy. (What a peculiar game, but more on that when they finally get round to making that PC version.) So yes, the Universe At War demo is available for your downloading pleasure. More episodes had been filmed, or at least parts of them, as evidenced by the series trailer, but these episodes were apparently never finished.I've been meaning to post this all day, but ended up playing Assassin's Creed instead. Since the release of Desperate Situations, no new episodes have been released. Universe at War tells the story of an alternate universe that has been invaded by a massive faction known as the "Axis of Terror", while a group of Toa that were destined to stop the Axis's era of domination over their world, as they'd form a strong resistance army (consisted of many other species prior to the Matoran/Toa species) to counterattack the Axis, thus beginning a universal war in their universe.
